WENDY HACKMAN Wendy spent her teen years growing up in Las Vegas, learning to sew at age 14 on her mother's old Singer sewing machine. Her passion lies in sharing her talents with her own four boys (of which almost all sew), as well as inspring her students to explore their creativity by providing them with tools to make their creations come to life. Wendy keeps a full schedule in sales of sewing machines and at CREATE with a flexible teaching roster that accomodates sewers of every experience level. Her favorite things to sew are baby blankets and tote bags!
SAVANNA JAFFE (CRAFTING & SPECIAL EVENTS) is not a new face to the team, but has been here from just about the very beginning! While entering her third year at UNLV, majoring in business accounting, she spends her free time doing everything creative. Pinterest DIY's and scrapbooking, to reading fiction novels and photography. Savanna loves to get different outlooks on life and draws inspiration from traveling. She has had a passion for Art since grade school, and when the opportunity arose for her to join the CREATE team, she knew it would be a perfect fit! Wtih her bubbly personality and creative spirit, she endeavors to inspire those who visit CREATE with her belief that art is anything your imagination cames up with! Savanna directs Open Crafting and our Crafting Birthday parties!
RAZILEE MADRID (ART) is joining our team this fall, and we are so excited to have her bring her expertise to CREATE! A graduate of UNLV’s Graphic Design Program, Razilee has worked as a professional graphic artist in New York City, and finds her inspiration from a variety of artistic mediums including sculpture, drawing, acting and photography. She loves working with both children and adults, and is proud of her ability to impersonate over 25 accents and her obsession with the Harry Potter Book Series. Anyone who is meets Razilee is immediately drawn to her contagious energy, optimistic outlook, and sincere desire to share her knowledge with others. Razilee is teaching Drawing and our Masters in Training Levels 1 and 2. She is also available to host our Art & Painting Parties, and truly has a gift of helping each attendee feel confident in their accomplishments.
ERIKA MUEKE (ART) is a self-professed Star Wars fan, owning a different Star Wars shirt for each day of the week. As graduate in Art, Media, and Culture from the University of Washington, Erika worked as the Program Coordinator for the Children’s Museum of Tacoma prior to moving to Las Vegas in 2014. She embodies her favorite artistic advice from Bob Ross, “We don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents”, and believes talent is simply a pursued interest - anyone can be talented! This mantra and her positivity radiate through her teaching style, motivating and inspiring her students in a very special way that has earned her a very loyal student following at CREATE. Eriks is teaching Drawing 1, Drawing 2, Painting 1, and Masters in Training Levels 1 and 2.
EVANGELINA DUKE-PETRONI (OWNER) moved to Las Vegas in 2007 as the Regional Manager of a large piano company. A graduate of Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT, she served as Miss Montana 2004 and competed in the Miss America Pageant, completing a year of service speaking to over 50,000 school aged children. She has since taught private piano and voice lessons in Las Vegas, and was thrilled when the opportunity arose for her to purchase CREATE. As a once homeschooled child, her Mother holds a Masters in Art Illustration and has taught art since Evangelina can remember. The motivation to purchase CREATE came with her two children and her desire to help build a sustainable studio for the community.
SILVER SHANDIIN (SEWING) is a self taught creative who began sewing full time 6 years ago, motivated by her desire to teach her daughter to sew. She loves the teaching process, seeing how proud a child becomes when they see that they can make something from a simple piece of fabric. As a strong advocate for developing youth confidence, Silver volunteers for the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada.
